During the task-based assessment phase, I made the tough decision to reject a CTO candidate who failed to complete the assigned task and showed significant inconsistency in their work. Leadership requires reliability and follow-through. If a candidate cannot deliver during an evaluation, it raises serious red flags about how they will execute under pressure. On a positive note, we are moving forward and actively conducting rigorous evaluations for two CTO's and CDO's candidates to strengthen our core leadership team. I agree with this. For leadership roles, reliability and the ability to actually deliver matter more than just having a strong resume. Quality over speed is definitely the right approach.
