The Hall of Founders
Where every Season Champion is remembered — forever.
The short version
Snikus runs on repeating time periods called Seasons. During a Season, every startup competes for real — most likes, most new followers, most check-ins, most posts. When a Season ends, the top performer is crowned Season Champion, and that name is recorded forever in the Hall of Founders. Then the board resets to zero for everyone, and a brand new Season begins.
Why Seasons reset
Without resets, whoever joined Snikus first would always be ahead — more followers, more posts, more of a head start than any new startup could ever catch up on. A Season fixes that: everyone, whether they joined a year ago or five minutes ago, starts every Season at exactly zero. What you rank on a Season leaderboard is only what you actually did during that Season — not your whole history.
Your all-time score and rank — shown on your own profile and startup page — never resets and never disappears. Seasons only affect the competitive leaderboard, not your permanent record.
How long is a Season?
Early Seasons are short on purpose, so the Hall of Founders fills up fast and new founders arriving in the first few weeks still find real winners to look at — not an empty page. After that, Seasons settle into a steady length and never get any longer than that.
| Season | Length |
|---|---|
| Season 1 | 1 week |
| Season 2 | 3 weeks |
| Season 3 | 1 month |
| Season 4 and every Season after it | 2 months |
Month Winners
Once Seasons are long enough to contain more than one full month (Season 4 onward), each individual month inside that Season crowns its own top 10 — a mini-leaderboard within the bigger Season. Shorter Seasons (1-3) are too short to have this — their Champion is judged over the whole Season directly instead.
How the Season Champion is chosen
The Champion isn't just whoever scored the most points overall — it's wins, not points. Specifically: whichever startup won the most individual months during the Season. Ties are broken by that startup's single best month score. This matters because it means a startup can't coast on one huge month forever — it has to keep performing, month after month, to stay Champion-worthy.
For Seasons too short to have individual months (1-3), the Champion is simply whoever had the strongest activity across that whole Season.
How the Rankings page works now
The Rankings page has three time-period tabs, and each one is a completely fair, fresh race:
Every startup, whether it joined years ago or five minutes ago, is always in the running on all three tabs — nobody is filtered out for being "too new" or "too old." Only the score changes, never who's allowed to compete.
Top Founders (in the sidebar) is different — it's a permanent, all-time leaderboard of founders, unaffected by Seasons. Rising Members is for people who haven't founded a startup yet, scored the same fair way as Season rankings — reset every Season, not lifetime totals.
What counts as activity?
The same real signals used everywhere else on Snikus — likes, new followers, genuine profile views, weekly check-ins, and posts published — but only the ones that happened during the period being scored. See the full platform guide for the exact points breakdown.
