Public transport or your own car?
Are frontier LLMs enough — or do we each need a personal AI?
Frontier models are incredible. But think about it this way:
Frontier models are like public transportation. Powerful, shared, and built for everyone. They get you moving, but they follow fixed routes, carry everyone the same way, and you never control the journey.
A personal AI would be like your own car. Trained on your work, your context, your preferences. It knows where you need to go and takes the route only you care about.
So here is my question:
1. Are general-purpose LLMs really enough for how you actually work?
2. Is there a real need for a personal AI — one built around your data, your workflows, your rules?
3. And if one existed today: what would you hand over to it first? What would you refuse it access to?
Would you keep driving public transport — or start building your own vehicle?
