Snikus exists so founders can build in public — post what you're working on, launch your startup properly, find people to build alongside, and get feedback that isn't just polite noise. Making an account means agreeing to what's below. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.
Using Snikus at all — not just signing up, using it — means you're bound by everything on this page. If something here doesn't sit right with you, that's fair, but it also means Snikus isn't the right fit for you at the moment.
Your account
You have to be 16 or older. Your name, username, and date of birth need to be genuinely yours — no throwaway accounts, no impersonating someone else. Whatever happens under your login is on you, which means guarding your password and telling us fast if you suspect someone else got hold of it.
One primary account per person. Switch Profile lets you link a small number of accounts on the same device for people who legitimately run more than one presence — an agency account alongside a personal one is the usual case. It's there for convenience. Using it to run sockpuppets or pad your own numbers is not what it's for, and we will notice.
Your content
Everything you post is still yours — threads, comments, your startup's writeup, screenshots, your bio, all of it. We're not claiming ownership. What we do need is permission to host it and show it to other people as part of running the platform: on your profile, in the feed, in search. That permission ends when the content (or your account) does, minus whatever reasonably lingers in a backup somewhere for a bit.
Only post what you actually have the right to post. Sharing someone else's screenshot or quote is fine if you're allowed to; passing it off as yours isn't. Copyright and trademark complaints get taken seriously — content comes down, and repeat offenders lose their accounts.
Startups & launches
Startup pages, Launch Day, karma, rank, badges — the whole scoring system only means anything if it's tracking real people doing real things. Running sock accounts to upvote your own launch, coordinating fake engagement, or trading votes for cash gets you removed, whether or not we happen to catch it the same day. None of that scoring — karma, levels, badges — has any cash value. You can't sell it, trade it, or cash it out.
Launch Day is a genuinely limited slot — one spotlight per day, and the scheduling window closes at a fixed time. The rules around that (the daily cutoff, how relaunching works) are how we keep it fair across everyone competing for the same day, and they can change as the product does.
Acceptable use
Don't harass anyone, don't threaten anyone, don't target people. Nothing illegal, nothing built to scam someone out of money. No scraping the platform at scale, no poking at its security, no reverse-engineering the parts that aren't meant to be public. Don't turn Snikus into a bulk-messaging tool or a way to farm people's contact info for some outside marketing list.
Reports exist, moderation happens, and we use judgment when applying it — a founder's first slip-up isn't treated the same as a pattern of deliberate abuse.
Verified plan
There's a paid Verified tier — a visible tick, faster relaunches, extra startup slots, free campaign credit, priority support. Exact details live on the Verified Badge page and can shift as the plan matures. Anywhere real money changes hands, subscribing or a one-off campaign, our Refund Policy covers exactly how that's handled.
Suspension & termination
Delete your account from Settings whenever you want — it's a real deletion, not a deactivation you can wake back up. We'll suspend or pull an account that clearly breaks these terms, and we try to match the response to how bad the violation actually was. A warning first, where that's realistic, rather than jumping straight to removal.
Liability
Snikus is provided as-is. We put real effort into keeping it up and your data safe, but we can't guarantee zero downtime or zero bugs, and we're not on the hook for what someone decides to do based on another user's post — including whatever claims a founder makes about their own startup. Wherever the law lets us, our liability is capped at what's reasonable for a platform you joined for free.
Changes to these terms
This page moves as the product does — new features occasionally need new rules to go with them. When something meaningful changes, the "last updated" date above moves too, and for bigger shifts we'll tell active users directly rather than just quietly editing the page. Keep using Snikus after an update and you've accepted the new version.
