Thunder makes noise. Lightning does the work.
Early on, I made a mistake a lot of founders make. I promised results before I'd proven the system.
I'd sit across from a prospect and talk with total conviction about what data could do for their business — the leakage we'd find, the customers we'd segment, the decisions we'd sharpen. I believed every word. But I hadn't earned the right to say it yet. Not fully.
That's thunder. Loud. Confident. Impossible to ignore. And completely useless without what comes after.
The real work started after the meeting. Alone with the data. Cross-checking every number twice. Refusing to rush a finding just to hit a deadline. Sitting with a client's three months of transactions until the pattern actually revealed itself — even when it took longer than I wanted, even when it would've been easier to round up.
Nobody sees that part. There's no applause for it. But it's the only thing that turns a promise into proof.
Thunder gets attention. Lightning is what actually strikes.
